Message from Derek Burnell 19th February 2021

Greetings to you all - I wish you the best of health and continued safety in these difficult times. Here is something to think about whilst we are in 'lockdown'.

When I was young I was told always to look ahead and learn from your mistakes in the past. Mistakes I have made aplenty, and in the future? Looking a long way ahead to Sept 2022, the 60th anniversary of the unveiling of the MGB. It may be not as significant as 50th or 75th but is still only 5 years to its OAP. I rang MGOC the other day and spoke to someone in forward planning and asked if they were going to do something similar as in 2012. They were thinking about it. I realise that it is sometime away but is there anyone out there who may be willing to help organise a gathering in Sept 2022 somewhere in our Northern Uplands? Please contact me if you might be interested!

All the very best to you all - Derek Burnell
